How to Apply Press-On Nails in 10 Minutes

Tools you need
- SMiDA press-on nail set
- Nail glue or press-on sticker (in our accessories collection)
- Cuticle pusher
- Buffer or fine-grit nail file
- Alcohol wipe
Step 1: Prep the natural nail (3 minutes)
Wash hands. Push the cuticles back gently. File the natural nail tip flat. Lightly buff the surface so the press-on bonds to a clean nail. Wipe each nail with alcohol to remove oil. Skipping this step is the number one reason press-on nails lift early.
Step 2: Match the size (2 minutes)
Lay each press-on against the matching natural nail and confirm the size before any glue. The press-on should match the nail width with no side gap and no pinching. If it is one millimeter too wide, gently file the side edge.
Step 3: Apply glue or sticker (3 minutes)
For long wear, apply a thin layer of nail glue to the natural nail and a small drop on the back of the press-on. Press at the cuticle line first, then roll the tip down. Hold for 10 to 15 seconds. For short wear or sensitive nails, use a press-on sticker instead.
Step 4: Press and shape (2 minutes)
Apply firm pressure for 10 to 15 seconds per nail. Move on to the next finger. Once all 10 are placed, lightly file the tips if you want a shorter shape.
Aftercare
- Avoid water for the first 30 minutes.
- Avoid long hot soaks for 24 hours.
